VOLTA: MAY 2021 features Bernard Houston, Kylie Supski and ReVerse Butcher. [What about VOLTA: APRIL, you ask? As it falls on a public holiday, we’re skipping straight to May.]

BERNARD HOUSTON weaves tone poems that mash global sounds, rhythms and melodies with electric synthesis, sampling and loops.  He is currently composing a symphony for the third millennium that reflects upon how Western Civilisation has impacted our planet.

KYLIE SUPSKI is a Polish-Australian poet & photographer. Her work has been performed or published at TheatreWorks, La Mama Poetica, VCA, Metanoia Theatre, The Burrow, Petrichor Mag (UK), & Burning House Press (UK). In 2016 she was the winner of the Melbourne Spoken Word Prize.

REVERSE BUTCHER is a multi-disciplinary artist with focuses in making unique artist’s books, traditional/digital/VR art, writing & performance. She will use any medium necessary to engage and subvert reality until it is less dull and oppressive. When she grows up she wants to be a well-read recluse.

VOLTA is a free monthly event, with electric live poetry, spoken word, and the unexpected. In 2021 it will be held in-person at Brisbane Square Library (as long as it is safe to do so).

Friday 7 May, 6–7pm AEST (in person)
