Criticism is a lot more than simply telling people your opinion. It is, above all, the art of paying attention. Alison Croggon will cover the building blocks of critique, showing you how to research, construct and write a critical response for a general audience. Explore the importance of analysing and questioning your subjective responses, and discover how uncertainty and doubt are often the door to understanding.
Alison Croggon was the 2009 Geraldine Pascall Critic of the Year, and has reviewed poetry for publications such as the Overland Journal, Australian Book Review and Voices. Her poetry collections won the Anne Elder and Dame Mary Gilmore Awards and were shortlisted for the NSW and Victorian Premiers’ Literary Awards.
